# Benefits run

> A scheduled disbursement of public benefits to recipients, prepared, approved and then paid.

A benefits run pays a programme's recipients on a schedule. The run is prepared from entitlements, previewed, approved and then paid, with each payment tracked and reconciled afterwards. Running it through a governed network gives departments, banks and local authorities a shared and traceable picture.
