Operating layer
The one consistent layer through which an organisation uses its financial capabilities, providers and participants.
An operating layer sits between an organisation and the banks, payment providers and other participants it works with. Instead of connecting each provider separately into every product, the organisation uses one layer to choose capabilities, apply its own rules and see what happened. Providers can then change without the product above them changing.
